First Class Cleaning Policies & Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions most commonly asked by our cleaning service customers and prospective customers. If you do not find the answer to your question, please feel free to email us at charish@firstclasscleaning.us.
Q. How Much Does a House Cleaning Service Cost?
A. Every house is unique, and every house cleaning fee is individually based. Things that will affect your house cleaning estimate include the size of your home, number of residents, number of pets, number of bathrooms, how often you want us to clean, etc. We bill in full hour increments rounded up or down at the half hour with a set minimum number of hours depending on the selected cleaning service.
Q. Will All House Cleaning Visits Cost the Same Amount?
A. The first house cleaning visit usually costs more than subsequent visits. Generally, it takes additional cleaning tasks and time to get the home up to First Class Cleaning standards. We will estimate the time needed before we begin and will contact you for authorization for more time in the event we consider it necessary.
Once the initial cleaning visit is complete, your home’s cleanliness can be easily maintained with our regular standard cleanings. Recurring house cleaning visits are charged as a flat fee. You will receive an estimate for both the initial cleaning and the regular house cleaning visits up front. Once the initial house cleaning has been completed, we will confirm your regular house cleaning price.
Q. Do I have to be at home when you are cleaning?
A. This is up to you. You may give us a key to be safely stored – always with “double-blind” security. Only the owner can access the client key safe. Any other cleaners are given the keys for each house cleaning appointment just before heading to your house, and must turn these back in before they are allowed to go home each evening. These keys are stored securely until your next house cleaning service visit.
Q. Do You Guarantee a Day and Time for My House Cleaning Appointment?
A. We ordinarily guarantee a specific day for your house cleaning but not a specific time. Due to our flexible and ever-changing schedule, we are unable to commit to a specific time of day for our cleaners to arrive. If you need a specific time guarantee, we will do our best to reach a mutually agreeable solution within reason.
Q. What if I need to Reschedule my House Cleaning?
A. Simply call or text Charish prior to your cleaning day at 218-259-8864. We require a minimum 24 hours notice to reschedule your house cleaning. If less than 24 hours notice is provided a $30 Rescheduling Fee will be charged to you.
Unlike the airlines, we do not overbook our schedule. So, if you need to reschedule a cleaning without proper notice, we will not have enough opportunity to fill the schedule with another cleaning client. This decreases our cleaners’ pay. Without consistent wages, we cannot retain the best cleaners. Thus, respecting our procedure for reschedules helps ensure you will get the best house cleaning service possible.
Q. Oops I Locked You Out of the House, Now What?
A. Just as with our rescheduling fee, if you accidently lock our staff out on house cleaning day, you will be assessed a $30 lock-out fee. Most of our clients either provide us a key or hide one on the premises on house cleaning day.
Q. What Should I Do About My Security/Alarm System on House Cleaning Day?
A. If you have a security system, please make necessary arrangements to give us access to your home on your scheduled day. Some clients establish a guest or temporary code for First Class Cleaning.
Q. What Should I Do With My Pets During the House Cleaning?
A. Please advise us if you have pets and provide any information regarding your pets that would be helpful for us to know.
Q. Are My Valuables Safe with First Class Cleaning?
A. If you have any special valuables, heirlooms or irreplaceable items, please put them away or instruct us not to touch them. A closed door or drawer is your signal to us that you do not want us to clean that area. First Class Cleaning carries all the necessary insurances in the event that any damage occurs..
Q. How Shall I Pay For My House Cleaning?
A. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Payment is due at time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made with Charish. A fee will be assessed for all returned checks.
Q. Do I Need to Provide House Cleaning Products or Equipment?
A. Over the years, we’ve found that most clients prefer we use their supplied cleaning products and equipment, so we ask that you do provide both. We do carry a limited amount of supplies with us, however, in case you run out on cleaning day.
Q. Is there anything you don’t clean?
A. Yes, there are some housekeeping tasks we CANNOT provide, including:
- Remove or clean up any human or animal feces or waste (per OSHA regulations)
- Move any furniture over 20 pounds (dressers, beds, tables, rockers, couches, hutches, desk, shelving units, refrigerator, oven, washer, dryer, etc)
- Turn on electricity or water at the main switch
- Be on any step ladder over two steps high
